The Fotona Laser

What is The Fotona Laser?

The latest generation of dental lasers has revolutionized dentistry with treatments that are faster, more effective and more satisfying to patients than ever before.

The Fotona LightWalker® Laser is an innovative and award-winning technology that has transformed the way we perform many dental procedures at Dental Crown in an Hour. The LightWalker utilizes TwinLight™ treatment enables treatment using two different laser wavelengths. The result is a comprehensive laser device capable of providing greater patient comfort, faster healing, and better overall accuracy.

How Does Fotona work?

The Fotona Laser uses a technology called TwinLight. This includes the use of two laser wavelengths in a single device. This technology allows us to perform a many procedures without the need for anesthesia. For instance, we can perform no-shot fillings (no anesthesia needed!) for children and adults.

No anesthesia means no numbness so that you can return to work or school immediately. The LightWalker is also ideal for cleaning and the removal of large amounts of plaque and tartar from your teeth. It removes calculus, and can even activate tooth-whitening gels. It provides a high peak pulse that works to decontaminate, remove diseased soft tissues, and help promote clotting at the treatment site.

What Treatments are the Laser Used For?

Thanks to the use of lasers, procedures are virtually painless. We can obtain such effect by applying the appropriate length of lightwave, which makes it possible to selectively process the tissue. Such procedures are incredibly precise, safe for the patient and the healing process is much faster. In addition, the laser helps preserve a maximum amount of healthy tooth structure and oral tissues and minimizes the amount of dental work needed.

Some of the dental treatments the Fotona Laser can be used for include:

  • Implants
  • Crowns and CEREC restorations
  • Dental Surgery
  • Endodontics
  • Cosmetic and Restorative Dentistry
  • Preventive Care
  • Dental Implants
  • Periodontal Procedures
  • Sleep Apnea Treatment (Nightlase)

Who can benefit from the Fotona Laser Treatment?

Most patients are candidates for laser dental treatment. We use the LightWalker for a variety of services, including endodontics, periodontics, surgical procedures and cosmetic dentistry. Whether you are undergoing a basic root canal, receiving implants or simply whitening your smile, laser dental treatment may be right for you.

The average laser dentistry patient enjoys great treatment benefits. Most do not need sutures after treatment, and the majority also enjoy:

  • Less discomfort during treatment
  • Reduced post-treatment pain and swelling
  • Faster healing times
  • Less bleeding
  • Fewer post-surgical complications
  • Fewer recurrences
  • Less trauma to surrounding healthy dental structures

Dental lasers have been used in millions of procedures for many years. Countless patients have been satisfied with a reduced need for shots and anesthesia, and many are happy to avoid the unpleasant sounds, smells and sensations typically experienced with a drill. At Dental Crown in an Hour, the use of Fotona LightWalker lasers is part of our commitment to patient-centric care.
